Boris BARAZ is a very famous russian soloist cellist. He began studying the cello at the age of 7, at the Central School of Music in Lviv, Ukraine. He went on to study at the Moscow Conservatoire under the direction of Natalia Shakhovskaya, a disciple of Mstislav Rostropovich. Since 1999, he was principal cellist and soloist of the European Soloists of Luxembourg, the Philharmonia Orchestra (London) and the Residence Orchestra of the Hague, with which ensembles he has performed throughout the world.

Irina KATAEVA is a very talented pianist. Daughter of renowned Moscow musicians, the conductor Vitali Kataev and the musicologist and philosopher Lyubov Berger, Irina Kataeva was a pupil of Jacob Milschtein at the Moscow Conservatory. Nowadays she teaches at the Regional Conservatoire in Evry, France, has been President of the jury of the International Competition of Contemporary Music in Freiburg and participated in the White Nights festival in Saint Petersburg and the first Messiaen festival in Russia.

In 2012, they decide to join their skills and record in studio the entire pieces by Debussy, Chostakovitch and Prokofiev, on the cello and the piano.

BOBURST and the label BAST Music are co-producers of the albums.
